• Sports Climbing in Kalymnos

Sharp rock, comically aggressive goats and sweeping vistas of the Aegean Sea. Climbing in Kalymnos was even better than advertised. While it is "only" sports climbing, and as such perhaps below the radar for denizens of the high Alps, the AACZ enjoyed a week's awesome climbing on some pretty high quality routes.

  • Ski-Touring weekend San Bernadino – March 4th-6th 2016

On March 4th, AACZ members of all age groups and skill levels took off versus the south for a ski touring weekend in the valleys around the San Bernadino pass. Despite highly uncertain weather conditions, around 20 brave members assembled in San Bernadino’s youth hostel and hotel. The first day was characterized by high avalanche danger due to snow falls of about 80cm within 24 hours. The day therefore started with finding one’s car (usually hidden in a huge block of snow) and a subsequent shoveling workout.

  • Fondei Weihnachstkneipp 2015

As every year, early December marks the occasion for the AACZ Weihnachstkneipp at Fondei hut. Unfortunately, snow was rather scarce and only very few of us verntured to take skis. The rest enjoyed the beautiful weather hiking. As always, the Weihnachtskneipp was a wonderful social event and we enjoyed delicious food and drinks, watching shootingstars and being out in the mountains together.
